Seal Beach Digital Surveillance Upgrade

It is difficult to overstate the importance of digital surveillance systems for DoD installations. Well placed cameras paired with an adequately sized NVR (Network Video Recorder) can provide realtime visibility into current operations and supply critical documentation after a security breach or safety incident has occurred.

Recently the Navy Golf Course, Community Center and Clubhouse at Seal Beach recognized these needs and contracted with Celebrity to design and install a modern digital surveillance system.

This project scope covered installation of IP based cameras throughout the facility and surrounding grounds. A wide variety of cameras were utilized based on coverage needs in specific areas, including bullet, domes, and PTZs (Pan Tilt Zoom). Celebrity specified a wireless transmission system with an 11 mile line of site range to reduce the need for wired infrastructure, and make it impossible for potential threats to block camera coverage by cutting cables.

Celebrity’s Camera Systems are controlled via Network Video Recorders that allow for real time viewing of multiple surveillance feeds and easy access to previously recorded data.

Expandability is a central pillar of Celebrity’s design process. Many of our systems are specified with equipment that allows for smooth and cost effective upgrades down the line. This installation at Seal Beach was no exception, thanks to additional capacity in the NVR’s this facility will later be able to increase coverage to the on base RV park and outdoor Recreation buildings at the main base.
